Formatting Exported CSV Data in Spreadsheets

How to split and format exported CSV data properly in Excel, Google Sheets, or Apple Numbers using delimiter settings.

If you exported a list from Putler and the data in the CSV file is all crammed into one cell, don’t worry, we can tidy it up easily. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Open your CSV file containing the data in Excel.
  2. Select the column with the crammed data.
  3. Navigate to the Data tab in Excel.
  4. Click on the Text to Columns option.
  5. Follow the prompts, and choose the delimiter (e.g. , comma) that separates your data.
  6. Excel will split the data into separate cells based on the chosen delimiter.
  7. Your data will now be organized into individual cells, ready for analysis and manipulation.
