One of the biggest hurdle people have in using Putler is getting their PayPal API information and setting it up in Putler. It’s not a complex thing, but involves a lot of jargon and a lot of PayPal users fail to understand them.
That’s the reason our support page about getting PayPal API information is the most popular page on the Internet (okay, okay, the most popular when it comes to finding your PayPal API username, password and key)…
So we removed that whole hurdle altogether!
Starting with version 2.3, Putler can connect to your PayPal account without needing your API info. Setting up your PayPal account in Putler is now just a click-next-click-next-click-save process. All without leaving Putler.
If you are wondering how this works, it’s quite similar to how third party applications work with Facebook. You can allow a third party application to access your Facebook information and post to your wall on your behalf. Similarly, you can now allow Putler to download your PayPal transactions and issue refunds on your behalf. For the jargon oriented, we are using “PayPal Permissions API”. It’s a safe, secure and quick way to get started. As a matter of fact, PayPal designed these APIs so that users can integrate third party applications easily.
