Callout

Use when: Something the reader must not miss.

:::note
Run the export before you change plans.
:::

Callouts highlight important context. Pick the type by meaning: :::note (informational), :::tip (advice or best practice), :::warning (cautions or warnings), or :::success (positive outcomes or resolutions).

  • Add title="..." to give the callout a bold title line.
  • Add side to float the callout into the sidebar track (:::tip{side}).
  • Add {icon-NAME} or {icon="NAME"} to override the default icon with any supported icon.

Do and don't

Do: one callout per screen of text. Pick the kind by meaning. Don’t: stack callouts back to back. Use warning for good news.

Takeaways

Use when: A bulleted summary at the start of a post.

:::takeaways
**Takeaways**
- Speed up checkout by eliminating optional form fields.
- Send cart recovery emails within the first two hours.
- Test one checkout change at a time with clean analytics.
:::
Do and don't

Do: put this right after the introductory paragraph. Don’t: repeat whole paragraphs from the body text.

Quote

Use when: Words from a named person.

Nobody believes you, because too many people said the same thing and meant nothing.

:::
Do and don't

Do: attribute real people with their real title. Don’t: use a quote block for your own emphasis.

Button

Use when: Calls to action and important links.

Ready? [Start free trial](https://example.com/){button} and cancel any time.

Write a normal link and add {button} at the end. It works in the middle of a sentence or on a line of its own. Add secondary for the quieter style when there are two side by side: {button secondary}. Add arrow for a trailing arrow. A plain link with just {arrow} gets an arrow and no box, for “read more”-style links.

A line holding only buttons stretches them to full width on phones. Buttons inside a sentence stay the size of the text around them. Inside a :::cta, a plain link becomes a button by itself.

Links to other websites open in a new tab and are marked nofollow, except links to our own brands’ sites. To vouch for a site, add {follow}: [WPML](https://wpml.org/){follow}. For a paid or affiliate link, add {sponsored}. Both work alongside the button words: {button follow}.

Do and don't

Do: reserve primary buttons for the main action on the page. Don’t: put more than two buttons side by side.

Call to action

Use when: A standalone box that invites action.

Do and don't

Do: write a clear heading and one concise sentence. Don’t: add multiple links competing for attention.

Pinned sidebar

Use when: Sticky sidebar element that stays in view during scroll.

Database optimization routines run in-place schema modifications and can delete expired transient records. While safe in standard environments, custom plugins might hold references to transient data.

Running migrations during low-traffic maintenance windows ensures background cron queues do not deadlock on locked database rows.

Verify that your hosting provider provides point-in-time recovery before triggering optimization commands across multi-gigabyte stores.

Needs a few paragraphs next to it inside ::::section, or there’s nothing to stick against.

Do and don't

Do: wrap in ::::section with at least three paragraphs. Don’t: pin without sufficient content beside it.
