What does "Product Name Not Set" mean in Putler?

The "Product name not set" appears in Putler when the product name is not retrieved from the data source, primarily a payment gateway such as Stripe. This typically occurs when the product is not defined in Stripe.

Solution 1:

  • Add eCommerce Platform to Putler
  • Integrate your eCommerce platform (e.g. WooCommerce, Shopify) with Putler.
  • By adding your eCommerce platform, Putler can merge data and map product names, resolving the issue of "Product name not set."

Solution 2:

  • Utilize Description or Meta Fields
  • In some cases, eCommerce platforms may store product names in Stripe's Description field or meta.
  • If the product name is correctly stored in these fields, a simple modification on our end can merge these fields with the product name field in Putler.
Action Steps
  1. Provide Transaction IDs from Stripe where the product name is not set.
  2. This allows us to investigate further and determine if the product name can be mapped from other fields and we ask permission from the client to use it as the product name in Putler.
